Nirvana by J.R. Stewart (Revised Copy)

When the real world is emptied of all that you love, how can you keep yourself from dependence on the virtual?

Animal activist and punk rock star Larissa Kenders lives in a dystopian world where the real and the virtual intermingle. After the disappearance of her soulmate, Andrew, Kenders finds solace by escaping to Nirvana, a virtual world controlled by Hexagon. In Nirvana, anyone’s deepest desires may be realized - even visits with Andrew.

Although Kenders knows that this version of Andrew is virtual, when he asks for her assistance revealing Hexagon’s dark secret, she cannot help but comply. Soon after, Kenders and her closest allies find themselves in a battle with Hexagon, the very institution they have been taught to trust. After uncovering much more than she expected, Kenders’ biggest challenge is determining what is real – and what is virtual.

Nirvana is a fast-paced, page-turning young adult novel combining elements of science fiction, mystery, and romance. Part of a trilogy, this book introduces readers to a young woman who refuses to give up on the man she loves, even if it means taking on an entire government to do so.

I would like to give special thanks to Blue Moon Publishers and Adam's effort in reaching out to the readers providing a copy for me to read and review Nirvana revised version of the book! I truly appreciate the author's idea and taking the time to present the best to readers anticipating for more incredible journey with the world of Nirvana.

Nirvana is completely arranged in a way where readers immerse themselves into the unknown and unfamiliar world that no one has ever thought virtual reality may turn into.

I'm really excited to receive Nirvana when I found out that a revised copy was on the way! To be honest, I started off reading it feeling out of place and not confident because it was slightly different from the previous advance copy before the revised work. The flow of the story though helped me to overlook those feelings and eventually I was getting interested especially because my interest was on the second character named Serge. I truly enjoyed the character's role in the plot as he did the best not for himself but helping a long time friend without asking for anything in return. He definitely played an important role in the story and he's being recognized by his peers as he stood by them through thick and thin. His loyalty is memorable for me as well. The book has also improved so much in terms of providing the different events in detail as it has been neat and orderly. I can distinguish the different world and POV and following the story has come an ease.

I'm concern about how I feel towards the main characters though. I suppose it was the connection I couldn't make with both Andrew and Kenders. It's difficult because I didn't quite learn about who they really are and that makes me a little disappointed when I should have at least had a glimpse of. I look forward to get insights on the strengths and weaknesses of Andrew and Kenders because one thing is clear, they can't live without each other. But is there actually more about these two and what will make them stand out and become the characters I'll look up to. That, I'm genuinely curious. Perhaps, they just started the stepping stones to finding out about themselves as well as the world of virtual reality.

In a nutshell, Nirvana gives you an engaging look at virtual reality world and its consequences that comes to anyone who oppose the brilliant idea towards shaping the future to turn into misfortune and broken promises.
