The Infernal Devices: Clockwork Prince

Love and lies can corrupt even the purest heart…

In the magical underworld of Victorian London, Tessa Gray finds her heart drawn more and more to Jem, while her longing for Will, despite his dark moods, continues to unsettle her.

But something is changing in Will – the wall he has built around himself is crumbling. Could finding the Magister free Will from his secrets and give Tessa the answers to who she is and what she was born to do?

YES! This series is one of the best I’ve read!! I took the time reading this amazing book!! All thanks to the wonderful author of Infernal Devices! I CAN’T WAIT FOR CLOCKWORK PRINCESS!! Breath-taking novel!

I’ve got lots of tweets to share (my tweets)! HAHAH! Lemme color ‘em BLUE. TWITTER IS BLUE, anyway lol

*facepalm* WILL. HERONDALE. Goodness. Will.

Hahahah!!!! Gosh, Will! Thank you for always making humorous comments on things. XD

Cassandra Clare is one the best authors!! Really love how you write! @cassieclare

Bridget: “I am a fine cook, sir,”…”My previous employers had no complaints.” Will: “Lord, you’re Irish,”…”We had Irish cook once when I was a boy. Potato pie, potato custard, potatoes with potato sauce…”

9 months till Clockwork Princess. Oh gosh. Good thing I still have Clockwork Prince to finish reading and the rest of the TMI books.

I’m again reading this History textbook and somehow it reminds me of Jem Carstairs. Also the London Institute haha! The trading between the Chinese and British.

Poor poor Will Herondale. #continuingClockworkPrince

Will Herondale… *BIG HUGS*

I don’t think I can be strong like Will. Avoiding the people u love because you are curse to them. OUCH.But I’d probably have done the same.

OMG Will!!! There is no such thing as you test yourself whether you’re in love or not. If you are, then you truly are! #Willforeverinlove

“…wanting what you could not have led to misery and madness.”

*sniffs* don’t. Don’t make me tear up like this Will, Jem. #trulythebestparabataiever

Gabriel’s sister, Tatiana!! HAHAH! Who said a 12 year old girl couldn’t dream to be a Herondale? XD

Will… your barriers!! YES! It got destroyed! OMG! Yaaaaay!

currently reading (still lol) Clockwork Prince and art homework is not done yet. Idk if I plan to do anything about it LOL #JemimaIsIsabelle

By the Angel, I must say I better stop swooning over young Master Herondale for I have an early gathering to attend in church tomorrow. Well, not tomorrow. It is in fact today.

“It is always better to live the truth than to live a lie.” – Magnus Bane

I can’t take it anymore. Will is always hurt. :’( However, I love Jem too. I will not him hurt too. #ohprettyboysicanteven

My brother and I exchanged homework lol. I’m doing his English essay while he does my Art/painting poster homework haha! #myparabataiindeed

Cliffhanger!! No! #iwanttoreadClockworkPrincessNOW

Sorry for posting my fangirling tweets in this post. And when I do review of book, I’m such a fangirl – I know it’s stupid. Yes. Ridiculous. Anyways, there was this stick-post-it in my cabinet side, and I looked at it – it says “The restaurant we’ve ate Chinese foods. I ate Fried noodles with chicken chops. *Tang Dian Wang Shanghai Restaurant” HAHAHAH!! EPIC, man! My English then was terrible! Ok. What makes me looked at it was random. It has been stick on in the inside of my cabinet for years!! Crazy, isn’t? Anyways, the name of the restaurant with the word ‘Shanghai’ caught my eye! It reminds me of Jem! Our precious Jem!

Oh yes! The demon pox song that Will compose out of his own random, giddy, self was totally humorous!!! THE BEST THING EVER!!!

I have nothing bad to say about this book! I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT. I LOVE IT!!! Highly recommend it you all bookwormies!!

Unearthly

Clara Gardner has recently learned that she’s part angel. Having angel blood run through her veins not only makes her smarter, stronger, and faster than humans (a word, she realizes, that no longer applies to her), but it means she has a purpose, something she was put on this earth to do. Figuring out what that is, though, isn’t easy.

Her visions of a raging forest fire and an alluring stranger lead her to a new school in a new town. When she meets Christian, who turns out to be the boy of her dreams (literally), everything seems to fall into place—and out of place at the same time. Because there’s another guy, Tucker, who appeals to Clara’s less angelic side.

As Clara tries to find her way in a world she no longer understands, she encounters unseen dangers and choices she never thought she’d have to make—between honesty and deceit, love and duty, good and evil. When the fire from her vision finally ignites, will Clara be ready to face her destiny?

Unearthly is a moving tale of love and fate, and the struggle between following the rules and following your heart.

TEAM TUCKER!!! NOT CHRISTIAN’S. EW. HAHAHA!! It’s a fast paced read! I kinda liked it. At first for me, I could not wait what was going to happen to Clara or any of that vision. I was dreading the dragggy feeling while reading the pages but I got into the ride and liked the book as it goes on. WOW I really had gone crazy reading this book!! Aaah!! Was actually gonna do the history worksheet (holiday homework) but no, I read a YA book instead HAHAH ;) Good thing too, the book has settings in like summer which is nice. Cool for summer reads!!

Good thing I survived and continued reading it. I gotta admit, I didn’t like the book at first and plus her stupid mother.

I came to like the book when no more Christian haha! I like Tucker better than Christian. sorry lol!! OMG new fictional boyfriend – Tucker Avery from Unearthly gorgeous country boy. If only Tucker Avery existed in this world, and goes to my school. Ah. I’ll probably have a summer romance, finally. No fling but real love LOLOL Gosh!!! I’m fangirling over a fictional guy. Gone bonkers!! >___<

But omg Clara, your mom can be like a ‘Black Wing’ sometimes. LOL I don’t like the book when the mother is forcing her daughter to do this and that. I mean it’s not like you should not obey your mother/parents. But Clara’s mom has already crossed the line. She’s too much!! She can’t just go on like her life is Clara’s – Clara has her own heart too who has a choice to make who she really wants to be with. Not forced her to something she doesn’t like/love.

That’s why I’m Team Tucker!! I hope it won’t change my feeling for team Tucker when I finally get to read Hallowed (the sequel). Tucker and Clara is so good for each other. I mean really adorable! The cowboy descriptions in the book… *SWOONS*

Reading this book made me forget about my chapped lips. ;)

I saw this on a YA blog from ‘Read Me Bookmark Me Love Me’ http://readmebookmarkmeloveme.blogspot.sg/ and I thought I would like to share it!! I’m a devoted Team Tucker member!
Photobucket
Tucker: “Today we ran into a mama grizzly with two cubs at the ridge off Colter Bay and Clara sang to it to make it go away.”
Mrs. Avery: “You sang to it?”
Tucker: “Her singing is that bad.”

Why do we love Tucker? Honestly, what’s not to love? Tucker is a very sweet, caring guy with a bit of a humorous side to him. Some of the things that come out of his mouth are truly belly laughing hilarious! He honestly cares for Clara and it shows. Clara thought that she liked Christian, but once she got to know Tucker, Christian just became a hindsight.
“Tucker,” I say. “I’m so glad you’re still here.”
I throw myself into his arms. He hugs me tightly.
“I couldn’t leave,” he says.
“I know.”
“I mean, literally. I don’t have a ride.”
Photobucket

Tucker is a sexy cowboy and lives on the farm. You know what that means ladies….hard, wash board abs, strong biceps. He is also tall and described as very handsome! Can I say swooooon? Tucker is very protective of the ones that he loves and would stop at nothing to keep them safe. Add that to the already long list of swoonworthy characteristics and you’ve got yourself the perfect book boyfriend!

“Fine.” He smirks at me. “Nice to meet you, Carrots,” he says, looking directly at my hair. “Oh, I mean Clara.”
My face flames.
“Same to you, Rusty,” I shoot back, but he’s already striding away.”

When Clara first met Tucker, she despised him. All he wanted to do was torment her. He looked at her as a spoiled brat. Before long, Clara started to take notice to him. The way he looked and the things that he said. I believe that he fell for her first, he just had a funny way of showing it. But once the sparks started flying, there was no going back. They were madly and passionately in love! Aaawww!
“Hey, Carrots,” he says.”
Need I say more? I believe that Tucker is the epitome of awesomeness! I have used model Luke Armitage to prove it. Wouldn’t he make a great Tucker? Hubba hubba!
Tucker:” Is it okay to kiss you?”
Clara: “What?”
Tucker: “I won’t get struck by lightning?”
Clara: (laughs) “No lightning.”
Go Team Tucker!

The Infernal Devices: Clockwork Angel

Magic is dangerous—but love is more dangerous still.

When sixteen-year-old Tessa Gray crosses the ocean to find her brother, her destination is England, the time is the reign of Queen Victoria, and something terrifying is waiting for her in London’s Downworld, where vampires, warlocks and other supernatural folk stalk the gaslit streets. Only the Shadowhunters, warriors dedicated to ridding the world of demons, keep order amidst the chaos.

Kidnapped by the mysterious Dark Sisters, members of a secret organization called The Pandemonium Club, Tessa soon learns that she herself is a Downworlder with a rare ability: the power to transform, at will, into another person. What’s more, the Magister, the shadowy figure who runs the Club, will stop at nothing to claim Tessa’s power for his own.

Friendless and hunted, Tessa takes refuge with the Shadowhunters of the London Institute, who swear to find her brother if she will use her power to help them. She soon finds herself fascinated by—and torn between—two best friends: James, whose fragile beauty hides a deadly secret, and blue-eyed Will, whose caustic wit and volatile moods keep everyone in his life at arm’s length…everyone, that is, but Tessa. As their search draws them deep into the heart of an arcane plot that threatens to destroy the Shadowhunters, Tessa realizes that she may need to choose between saving her brother and helping her new friends save the world…and that love may be the most dangerous magic of all.

Will Herondale and Jem Carstairs!! *swoons* <3 Omg Brit accent of Will Herondale. It’s gettin hot!!! Hahah *dies* Will Herondale, my new fictional boyfriend. I’ll love Jem too if no one take him haha!

“If no one in the entire world cared about you, did you really exist at all?”

Will: “I said I would get you more books, didn’t I?” Tessa: But the books are all behind bars! .. Like a literary sort of prison!”

“There’s plenty of sense in nonsense sometimes, if you wish to look for it.”

Tessa: “…Haven’t you really any other novels?” Will: “Not unless Lady Audley’s Secret is that she slays demons in her spare time.”

I’M SO IN LOVE WITH INFERNAL DEVICES SERIES. <3 I really am so dumb. I didn’t know The Infernal Devices is a prequel to Mortal Instruments. OMG. I figured too. Where Jace got his show-off attitude— William Herondale. Are they related? Hmm. I’m thinking—YES. YES. Sorry I’m not even reviewing the book but you see, too much fangirling here!! That shows you how I much I am in love with the book!! Totally should read this YA book if you are into fantasy, romance. AAAAHH!!!

I would like to share this CLOCKWORK ANGEL (MANGA) WILL HERONDALE LOOKS SOOO GORGEOUS OMG!!

More over at Goodreads; Read the rest — HERE Fans are really creative when fangirling strikes!! ;)

“..This is what is real, and the life I had before was the dream.”

“…the less you had, the more careful you had to be about everything you DID have.”

Will: *Brit accent* “Indeed. … How could anyone despise us when we are so charming?” *facepalm* Hahaha XD

Hahah the Summoner. Clever Charlotte B. I knew it, it isn’t the Summoner but Sensor. So Henry invented it. Jace owned one hehe
Naughty William, Tessa and Jem haha omg stalking the Enclave through a pane of glass hahah

“Tessa knows Will,” protested Charlotte. “She TRUSTS Will.”

Fangirling over such perfect men… Will and Jem <333

“It’s all right to love someone who doesn’t love you back, as long as they’re worth you loving them. As long as they deserve it.”

I took the time reading this book. It’s utterly amazing!!! Love the twists that I didn’t expect to come!! AWESOMESAUCE! :D With all the British everything going on. It’s really a wonderful book! I’m into some British accent at the moment. Hope it continues somehow LOL. After I read the whole book, on Cassandra Clare’s site, there she published ‘extras’ and I squeee and squeal and fangirl over Will Herondale! Excerpt & Extras | Cassandra Clare

Yesterday, we went for swimming and my attire was mostly black – black T-shirt, black tote bag…I’m ready to be a Shadowhunter!! And for a second yesterday I thought I’m a Shadowhunter or rather want to become like one. It’s ridiculous you see but really I love thinking about it that way. However, something was missing before I become a Shadowhunter, I need a ‘parabatai’ with me! Either a boy or girl haha! If we are both girls, we’d call ourselves – Boadicea Shadowhunters! HAHAHAH!! Our motto would be like this: “She took poison rather than let herself be captured by the Romans.” She was braver than any man.

One last thing before I end off this crazy fangirl review – I really love Will Herondale’s motto:“Pulvis et Umbra Sumus” - This is a Latin phrase meaning “We are dust and shadows.” My friend and I discussed what the phrase means and in our opinions we agreed that we are truly dust and shadows. Dust because we are nothing in this world we only live here temporarily and therefore the world will be full of dust without us living here anymore, when we already gone off to another life. As for shadow, we left only our shadow…in a more specific term is our legacy behind in this temporary world. Each of us has shadows our own to leave behind for the people we love even if they do not love us back, there’s always something for them from you.

Woah! That was…wow. I can’t believe myself to actually breakdown the meaning of Will’s motto. Well, that was just my own head digging for understanding, I guess… in my perspective of what it means.

So…YES! DO READ THIS BOOK!! Go check out the Mortal Instruments if you haven’t yet! IT’S A WORLD OF SHADOWHUNTERS. FANTASY. GREAT TWISTS AND UNEXPECTED EVENTS! ENJOY READING, BOOKWORMIES! :D

Graffiti Moon

Let me make it in time. Let me meet Shadow. The guy who paints in the dark. Paints birds trapped on brick walls and people lost in ghost forests. Paints guys with grass growing from their hearts and girls with buzzing lawn mowers.
It’s the end of Year 12. Lucy’s looking for Shadow, the graffiti artist everyone talks about.
His work is all over the city, but he is nowhere.
Ed, the last guy she wants to see at the moment, says he knows where to find him. He takes Lucy on an all-night search to places where Shadow’s thoughts about heartbreak and escape echo around the city walls.
But the one thing Lucy can’t see is the one thing that’s right before her eyes.

There’s so many things I learned about art from this book. I thought art is just simply art. The drawing and everything but it’s beyond that. It tells a story. Deep story that no one will know but the artist. This has truly taken me to a place where it’s all about art. I’m not really a fan of art in school. You know, drawing and painting. I get really low scores for art haha. Doesn’t matter though, I always try the best just to pass it. I was good at drawing then. In fact, I took it as a hobby not really a dream to be an artist and all like Lucy and Ed. Besides, I’m not creative to draw something on my own. Creativity is what I lack of.

The art of love. This is what I’ll call this book. It’s really good and witty! I laughed a couple of times at Lucy and Ed’s convo. They are both very artsy, inside out. And while the moment still lasts, the love they didn’t know was there all along.. just came out naturally between them. “Most people don’t know what they want till it’s right in front of their face.” That’s what happened to both her and Shadow. I’m such a spoiler. *more spoiler alert coming your way, BLINKING* It takes a guy and a girl to know each other real well anonymously. You put on a bag over your head. It’s ironic. Idk. HAHAH! I don’t think it even makes any sense..  This is the one…
The Lovers by Rene Magritte
This painting first mentioned by Lucy on page 100 is a reoccurring theme in the book.  There is a weird logic to Lucy’s feeling that “...kissing blindfolded like that is the easiest place to start“.  I particularly love the final callback to this painting.

More from Graffiti Moon Art gallery… HERE <— I’M INSPIRED! <3

Looking at those pieces, Art is weird. It doesn’t make sense at all. It kinda have sense but not making a whole lot of sense. I like it, however. Because it seems like me. I’m weird during convos and doesn’t makes sense at all. Always in my own little world. Art is an introvert like me, I guess. It doesn’t want to speak up that much… you gotta read it and understand. The words are all spell out in front of you through pictures. Emotions. Deep ones. How I wish someone takes me to an art exhibition right now!! How will I know? I want to know what the artist feel when they did the piece.

Anyway, this book is truly magical. I always imagine I’m on cloud nine. Because the setting is magical. The author describes the wall Shadow paints, and I was like – ‘WOW, he’s THAT creative and genius!’. Graffiti Moon. Sound so artistic indeed! Loving the setting of the book—moonlit cityscape! And oh! Yes! The glassblowing!! I can’t believe glassblowing never existed on the list of our post Art programmes in school. If it did, I’ll definitely have had sign up for it! It’s really interesting that I looked it up! It look simple but I know it’s not. But I do really want to learn, those melting glass.

It’s a fast read, roller art coaster ride for me! I just read it in a day and a half or something. It’s just so good that I didn’t have time to put it down. I kept on reading it till the end until I was like ‘WHAT? This is not happening! More pages!!! NOOOO!’. I can’t believe it’s only 200+ pages book. I love author, Cath Crowley!! Thank you for writing this beautiful book! LOVE IT!

There are many quotes I would have like to share but that’ll spoil the whole book for those who have not read it. You see, you only have 1 night to see the graffiti. “Humans are strong, but if you hit them at the right point, they destruct.”

Ok, there’s one time I felt like an artist and I don’t feel stupid because I like it. I enjoyed it. It was this year’s Art programme in school and I was pissed because I didn’t get in to the choices I wanted to do. Everything in the programme is about art, different sorts of art categories but when the result came to me and didn’t got to any of the choices I wanted, I said I guess I’ll go torture myself with hot wax. I wanted ceramics or clay animation or stain glass. That day I was really not in the mood but I did it anyway. I put on my artsy mode because I might actually miss something out if I didn’t enjoy or put effort into the art I’m doing. Besides, it was only for the whole day. Good thing, not for a week or else I’ll probably would have really lose it! I did Batik painting. I tried it out before in primary school that was why I didn’t really like the programme I got in.

I had no real friends in the room. I sat by myself, artsy mode on and get the creative juices flowing! I survived. I liked where I was placed. Advance Batik painting. Painting the piece was hard work but it was worth it. I didn’t know, it turned out pretty cool. It wasn’t the same as Batik painting I did in primary school. I learned a whole new things about Batik, the toning of different colors! It was amazing!

Another thing I did not expect was the praises I got from the teacher-in-charge of the whole Art programme and head instructor in the Advance Batik painting. I thought to myself – ‘This isn’t so bad after all, I guess.’.

So my advice is, go try out new things or maybe..the same thing again even if you already did it – you might have missed out something out of it. ;)

AND YES, I RECOMMEND THIS BOOK 100%!! IT’S JUST AMAZING! I love Shadow. Oh! One more thing! This is about Shadow. There were a few songs that keeps popping out of my head while reading this book – My Shadow by Kelly Tang (SYF 2010 chior set piece). I sang it with the choir I was with for 3/4 years back for SYF choir competition when I was in primary school. It’s a national choir competition! It’s a great song! Another song is Art of Love by Guy Sebastian ft. Jordin Sparks.

I learned many slang words out of this book too. It’s cool! I would like to learn more slangs! It’s funny, how you read it and actually hear it coming out of your mouth! Haha! It’s so back to the 19th century! For the win!!

GO CHECK IT ALL OUT! Happy reading bookwormies! It’s June so get lost in book of wonders like Graffiti Moon, you won’t regret it! BOOM! 5 STARS FOR GRAFFITI MOON! Utterly amazing!!

EDITED:

The painting shown above reminds me of this song from Kris Allen’s new album, Thank You Camellia! Listen to it! It’s a great song!
