The Mortal Instruments #1: City of Bones

When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder — much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Clary knows she should call the police, but it’s hard to explain a murder when the body disappears into thin air and the murderers are invisible to everyone but Clary.
Equally startled by her ability to see them, the murderers explain themselves as Shadowhunters: a secret tribe of warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. Within twenty-four hours, Clary’s mother disappears and Clary herself is almost killed by a grotesque demon.
But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know….

I have no word for how amazing this book is!! Shadow World a whole new world to discover yourself! I can’t wait to read City of Ashes! “A sarcastic blond genie with a bad attitude.” <–Jace haha! TMI City of Bones pretty much reminds me of Percy Jackson. Jace has a great sense of humor!! Bwuahaha!! Very sarcastic guy too! Imma smack Jace in the face if ever he was for real! He plays with girls that way. Flirty! LOL ME, SOOO ADDICTED TO CITY OF BONES!!! JACE WAYLAND IS SO DANG COCKY. When reading this, I can't stop thinking and kept saying this in my head: WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS, "CITY OF BONES"??? I'M IN LOOOOVE.

I heard the book has a movie coming up this year but rather cancelled because the movie got dropped (?). I don't know, that's what I'm seeing on the net. Hmmm. Let's hope they get it done soon!! Psst! But reading will amaze you more than a movie will! Just saying. ;)

Crossed

I tweeted about this book while reading it…read my tweets and go crazy along with me if you want!
@QueenieDahilan :
  • Reading Crossed.
  • I like Xander. I feel sorry for him, Cassia didn’t choose him.
  • Omg I know Ky, you have a good heart, and all. You feel sorry for those kids but you can’t get them all on board. Dangerous.
  • “You can’t kill anything that’s always moving and changing.”
  • Nooo! Bah! I know Eli’s right but oh my. Oh my. Surviving is what they need.
  • Woah! That kid’s smart enough to think about the coat that the Society provided and took off their coats before running towards the canyons
  • “I climb into the dark for you. Are you waiting in the stars for me?”
  • Aww Cassia! Don’t give up! :)

Photo by me using Instagram. I love that app now. :)

That's just my spazzing and from those you know you have to Crossed now! Like now, now!

The Sky Is Everywhere

Seventeen-year-old Lennie Walker, bookworm and band geek, plays second clarinet and spends her time tucked safely and happily in the shadow of her fiery older sister, Bailey.

But when Bailey dies abruptly, Lennie is catapulted to center stage of her own life—and, despite her nonexistent history with boys, suddenly finds herself struggling to balance two. Toby was Bailey’s boyfriend; his grief mirrors Lennie’s own. Joe is the new boy in town, a transplant from Paris whose nearly magical grin is matched only by his musical talent. For Lennie, they’re the sun and the moon; one boy takes her out of her sorrow, the other comforts her in it. But just like their celestial counterparts, they can’t collide without the whole wide world exploding.

This remarkable debut is perfect for fans of Sarah Dessen, Deb Caletti, and Francesca Lia Block. Just as much a celebration of love as it is a portrait of loss, Lennie’s struggle to sort her own melody out of the noise around her is always honest, often hilarious, and ultimately unforgettable.

Romantic. I read the book last night, non-stop! After reading last night or let’s say morning, I placed the book under my pillow and guess what happened? I dreamed I was like Lennie but I wasn’t a 2 timer but 3. YES, 3!! INSANE! In the dream, I made the right choice and went for my Joe Fontaine in my dream. I said words from the classic books as well as what Lennie did in the book. It was pretty ridiculous saying those word in the twenty-first century. Really. I now know how Lennie felt saying those words to Joe too.

I love Lennie’s name. Especially her nickname, Len. Len Len is my nickname. Sometimes others call me Len. WOW. This book is love!!

And…gosh. JOE FREAKING FONTAINE. THAT FRENCH GUY IN THE BOOK. PARDON ME. I’m a go die now!!! He’s the sweetest guy! Respectful guy, he is! I love Joe Fontaine! Quel dork! :P Hahah!
“The sky is everywhere, it begins at your feet.”

P.S. If you have read the book, you may want to have a discussion with someone or you can do it alone: http://www.theskyiseverywhere.com/synopsis.php

Plus, the movie is on the way!! Selena plays Lennie! http://t.co/5M0gNrhG

I love that I found this list on one of a book bloggers (SOURCE)! EEEEP!! JOE FONTAINE!
Reasons why Joe leaps off the page for me:
* First, his physical description of course: messy brown curls, green eyes, very tall. In the book they say he looks like a gypsy, no a rock star, no a pirate! Heathcliff even maybe, then again, no maybe not.
* He’s a musical genius, playing all sorts of instruments but especially clarinet, guitar and trumpet. He writes songs too, special songs for people he loves.
* He is constantly smiling! Jack-o-lantern happy they say! Bright and brilliant, all the time.
* He is concerned and sincere.
* He moves slowly, he becomes friends first, if you know what I mean.
* He’s lived a bunch in Paris, so he sort of has the French thing going on too.
* He “gets” Lennie, with all her traumatic past.
* He “gets” her strange eccentric family too.
* Mostly I love this guy because he is real. Very real.

You need to read this book and meet him.
This one’s about Lennie. I found this on another book blogger (SOURCE)
Lennie: her habit of leaving scraps of poetry under rocks, etched into tree branches and scrawled on shoe soles; her passion for music; her penchant for road-reading (something that I never knew anyone else did!). On the flip side, Lennie was not my favorite character. Maybe I just couldn’t understand her, but I found myself screaming at her every single time that she ended up with Toby. She was just so self-destructive! I was so afraid that if Lennie continued, she would never see the sky again.
LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!! I WANNA DIE. IT’S SOOOOO GOOD!!

Rules Of Attraction

When Carlos Fuentes returns to America after living in Mexico for a year, he doesn’t want any part of the life his older brother, Alex, has laid out for him at a high school in Colorado . Carlos likes living his life on the edge and wants to carve his own path—just like Alex did. Then he meets Kiara Westford. She doesn’t talk much and is completely intimidated by Carlos’ wild ways. As they get to know one another, Carlos assumes Kiara thinks she’s too good for him, and refuses to admit that she might be getting to him. But he soon realizes that being himself is exactly what Kiara needs right now.

Carlos Fuentes doesn’t want any part of the life his older brother, Alex, has laid out for him in Boulder, Colorado. He’s used to living on his own terms—terms that involve doing drugs and dating lots of girls.
When Alex arranges for Carlos to live with a professor and his family, he feels completely out of place. He’s even more thrown by his strong feelings for the professor’s daughter, Kiara, who is nothing like the girls he’s usually drawn to. But Carlos and Kiara soon discover that in matters of the heart, the rules of attraction overpower the social differences that keep them apart.

Rules of Attraction #1: There are no rules.

Different from Alex and Brittany’s story. This one’s a whole new side of a Fuentes. YOU. NEED. TO. READ. THIS.

I love how the author included Alex and Brittany in there.

I’m just speechless doing a book review for this one. Carlos and Kiara’s story is better!!! I LOVE IT.

Shatter Me

Juliette hasn’t touched anyone in exactly 264 days. The last time she did, it was an accident, but The Reestablishment locked her up for murder. No one knows why Juliette’s touch is fatal. As long as she doesn’t hurt anyone else, no one really cares. The world is too busy crumbling to pieces to pay attention to a 17-year-old girl. Diseases are destroying the population, food is hard to find, birds don’t fly anymore, and the clouds are the wrong color.

The Reestablishment said their way was the only way to fix things, so they threw Juliette in a cell. Now so many people are dead that the survivors are whispering war– and The Reestablishment has changed its mind. Maybe Juliette is more than a tortured soul stuffed into a poisonous body. Maybe she’s exactly what they need right now.
Juliette has to make a choice: Be a weapon. Or be a warrior.

One of the best books I had read!! My friend Miki reads this book too and we both spazz a lot about Adam! I mean, who won’t love Adam Kent?? SQUEEE is all we did today! He is gorgeous. Everything you imagine a guy you will own and forever yours. I can’t even. Oh my heart. Be still my heart. *but yet, dies*

Miki and I were pretty confuse about Juliette’s hand though. Miki asked me about Warner and then… I realized I do not know too. Is it just her hand? Every part of her body? Now, i pretty much don’t get it too!! Haha! Her hands. Those are the only dangerous part of her, right? Not her whole body?? Warner is…immune to her touch. Ugh! *confusing* Ok. I kinda have to say this. But I really think Warner is also one H-O with T guy in the book! Not just Adam! The thing about Warner is…he’s a creep, evil, ruthless guy! That’s what I hate about him!

Adam. Wow. Puuuurfect for Juliette.

I am fascinated at Omega Point. The people there, especially. Like wow! Ama..aahhzing!

Oh yeah, the sequel to Shatter Me is titled Unravel Me! Author, Tahereh Mafi just announced this part of the news of the second book just a couple weeks ago! Excited!! I am sooo excited!

I was reading these stuffs on Goodreads and I thought I would like to share it! Readers who had read the book have some good predictions! Teams even! I’m on Team Adam. But…gah! Team Warner is… I should not go to that detail part of the story. Here goes

CRAZY/NUTS/INSANE CREATIVE FANS MAKE OWN CREATIVE PREDICTIONS!

Prediction:
1. Kenji will fall for Juliette, and be able to touch her.
2. Juliette and Adam will fight because she didn’t tell him that Warner can touch her.
3. Kenji will comfort Juliette.
4. Juliette would be torn between choosing Kenji over Adam!
5. And there’s Warner who’d come for Juliette! Then Juliette would be torn between doing the right thing and doing bad things with Warner.

Not really Team Kenji but good enough. Another prediction from a reader! I LOVE THIS ONE. SORRY. IF SOME OF YOU OUT THERE are Anti-Warner fans!

My predictions
1. Warner’s mom is/was part of rebels.
2. Warner discovers a terrible truth behind his past and joins the rebels against his father.
3. A super love triangle Adam-Juliette-Warner.
4. Warner and Adam both can touch Juliette so they may share same gene, you know what i mean.
5. Still team Warner.
6. Acton and Action.
Ahhhhh, can’t wait for this one. Give me this nowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww.

OH MY GOSH. THIS.

Excited for this book!
To everyone who keeps asking why Team Warner?
-because Warner has more layers to him that we soon will find out. He makes you wonder about him, while Adam isn’t interesting and is the typical “love interest”
I’ve read books with guys that are exactly like Adam, he’s nothing new.
That, of course, is my own opinion.
Team Warner!
To me. Probably or… I’m keeping my hopes up that maybe Warner has some good attitude left in his heart. Even a tiny or whatever the number his goodness left in him. He is a very interesting character to me. I know, Adam too is interesting and all but. Warner… I expect more about him. I AM ITCHING TO KNOW HIM. WHAT’S BEHIND HIS STORY. His mom. Like he gets offended when the subject about his mom’s whereabout is being brought in a conversation. Oh come on! I am excited to know!!! GIVE MORE, WARNER.

So apparently, I don’t know what team I’m in. Probably, half-half. If that’s even counted, haha!

That’s all. The author
MUST MUST MUST MUST should focus on Warner in the second book.
