As You Wish

This book is written by Jackson Pearce. Viola Cohen and A Jinn <— Love these two charcters! Since Viola broke up with her boyfriend, she spent her days silently wishing to have someone to love her again and more importantly to belong again. Until one day she inadvertently summons a young genie. He will remain until she makes three wishes. At the last part of the book was so touching. I love love love Jinn!!! Btw, if I have 3 wishes to make…

I’LL WISH THESE: 1) I wish my dad will have a job here in Singapore so that I won’t be leaving my school, Bartley and I can still continue studying there till Sec 4/5. To see my classmates again. 2) I want to be able to see David this Nov 19 and have tickets and my gifts for him ready! 3) Last but not least, I want my brother to pass every subject for the rest of the school year we’re going to spend in Bartley and I include my two other siblings to pass too! That’s all. Those are my 3 wishes. Nicely fitted. I don’t want anything now. Just three wishes above.

Reading this book is really funny— Jinn and Viola hahah! Lovely characters! I escaped a tear at the last chapter. I though Jinn will get over her but no. He love her!! Eeek!  Light pink roses – Admiration, friendship, romance. Awww!! I love the flower boy! JINN!

Sing Me To Sleep, Hereafter

I had done with these two books. Sing Me To Sleep by Angela Morrison. Hereafter by Tara Hudson.

Morrison’s book—I skipped a few chapters in the end and just read what happened to Derek and Beth. I feel sad for Derek, he died. I love Scott more than Derek though. I skipped because it’s just making the story longer when Derek can just tell Beth the truth about his sickness. So I fast forwarded and then, I was done. It was a bit clichè to me.

Synopsis:

THE TRANSFORMATION Beth has always been “The Beast”,that’s what everyone at school calls her because of her awkward height, facial scars, and thick glasses. Beth’s only friend is geeky, golden-haired Scott. That is, until she’s selected to be her choir’s soprano soloist, and receives the makeover that will change her life forever.

THE LOVE AFFAIR
When Beth’s choir travels to Switzerland, she meets Derek: pale, brooding, totally dreamy. Derek’s untethered passion, for music, and for Beth, leaves her breathless. Because in Derek’s eyes? She’s not The Beast, she’s The Beauty.

THE IMPOSSIBLE CHOICE When Beth comes home, Scott, her best friend in the world, makes a confession that leaves her completely torn. Should she stand by sweet, steady Scott or follow the dangerous, intense new feelings she has for Derek?

THE HEARTBREAK
The closer Beth gets to Derek, the further away he seems. Then Beth discovers that Derek’s been hiding a dark secret from her ?one that could shatter everything.

HEREAFTER

Hereafter by Tara Hudson, surprised me! Hauntingly beautiful book! Love story with ghostly twist with it. I’m so in love with Joshua Christopher Mayhew! LOL Omgosh! How can I have a crush on fictional characters and how in the heck I can remember thi character’s full name! HAHAH! He’s a sweet loving guy with good humor! Him and Amelia Elizabeth Ashley, PERFECT together! Super super! Even if she’s a ghost. Hehehe.

Synopsis:
Can there truly be love after death?

Drifting in the dark waters of a mysterious river, the only thing Amelia knows for sure is that she’s dead. With no recollection of her past life–or her actual death–she’s trapped alone in a nightmarish existence. All of this changes when she tries to rescue a boy, Joshua, from drowning in her river. As a ghost, she can do nothing but “will” him to live. Yet in an unforgettable moment of connection, she helps him survive.

Amelia and Joshua grow ever closer as they begin to uncover the strange circumstances of her death and the secrets of the dark river that held her captive for so long. But even while they struggle to keep their bond hidden from the living world, a frightening spirit named Eli is doing everything in his power to destroy their newfound happiness and drag Amelia back into the ghost world . . . forever.

Perfect Chemistry

This is book is written by Simone Elkeles. Brittany Ellis and Alex (Alejandro) Fuentes. Gosh!!! Star-crossed lover! Love the story!! Definitely a must read! Totally romance!! I like Brittany as the character, she is not a 1 dimensional but rather 2. I love her when she really cares so much for her sister who is disabled. I love that side of her and then she met Alex, and … she realizes her fake world and that there’s something real she’s missing out in her life, and that’s being true to herself – not showcasing to everyone as if she’s the perfect girl in the whole wide universe that her solar system stay in good alignment, that making no mistake in life is all she ever focuses on. Totally changed her when she first met Alex that day in the first day of senior year. Like, KABOOM!

Both Brittany and Alex are chemistry lab partners for the rest of the senior year.

What I love about this book too is that the teacher, Ms Peterson, didn’t give on Alex (or Brittany). She kept going, on what she has to do and makes difference in the world, even if it is a small impact by giving detention slips haha. She wants the best for students in any way she can. Same to Dr Aguirre.

Hey, Ms Peterson! I like Chemistry btw. I’m not kidding. But physics seems suitable for me. I like formulas and do some report based on a project haha! ;)

While reading this book, LOTS of songs flooding in my head – singing it from song to song of different lyrics and tunes LOL if that even makes sense at all.

It’s a trilogy, I knew it! Dangit!

SYNOPSIS
A fresh, urban twist on the classic tale of star-crossed lovers.
When Brittany Ellis walks into chemistry class on the first day of senior year, she has no clue that her carefully created ‘perfect’ life is about to unravel before her eyes. She’s forced to be lab partners with Alex Fuentes, a gang member from the other side of town, and he is about to threaten everything she’s worked so hard for: her flawless reputation, her relationship with her boyfriend, and the secret that her home life is anything but perfect.
Alex is a bad boy and he knows it. So when he makes a bet with his friends to lure Brittany into his life, he thinks nothing of it. But soon Alex realizes Brittany is a real person with real problems, and suddenly the bet he made in arrogance turns into something much more.
In a passionate story about looking beneath the surface, Simone Elkeles breaks through the stereotypes and barriers that threaten to keep Brittany and Alex apart.

Post Thoughts on 'Stolen' - G = Ty x

My whole day thinking about the book ‘Stolen’. About Ty and Gemma. Oh gosh!

Ty write like this: gonna catch a snake. See you lata! Ty x

I can’t stop myself. Ty and Gemma, have been perfect if…if he had NOT done IT. I want them to be together but I knew it won’t happen anyway. But still.. Oh well. I guess we have to let go. Gemma did the right decision to say goodbye to Ty and made everything final.

It’s just really an amazing book that I can’t wait for it to turn into a movie someday. Even my friend who I recently spoke to about this book is super excited as I am! She’ll try to read ‘Stolen’ (and The Hunger Games). :)

I’m stuck with the song, Disaster by Jojo too! Great song for Gemma and Ty!! Ah love both characters (though Ty is a…you know) oh gosh. In the song, its just…the lyrics has agony. DEEP agony. In the lyrics: “No happy ever after, just disaster.”

That song has something to connect with Gem and Ty’s relationship, some way or the other at least.

My mind is so full of things about these two characters—you know haha! I was imagining what happens if there’s a sequel… I was just plain CRAZY with it imagining something that I know it’s not going to happen anytime! But really WHAT IF? WHAT IF TY got the letter?!
I may better as well shut up before I really go bursting out-GOING INSANE!

Lata!
Queenielyn xoxo

Stolen: A Letter to My Captor

Stolen by Lucy Christopher. This book scared me a little at first and the guy who kidnapped Gemma Toombs, whose name is Tyler MacFarlane.

A bit of intro: It happened like this. I was stolen from an airport. Taken from everything I knew, everything I was used to. Taken to the sand and heat, dirt and danger. And he expected me to love him. This is my story. A letter from nowhere.

Gosh. I couldn’t describe this book really. Maybe just look “Stockholm Syndrome” up on google and maybe you’ll get a better idea about this novel. You have to read it really! Here’s a snapshot!

Wither

This books scares me more than you ever know. Well, I have just done reading it today. Wither— The Chemical Garden trilogy by Lauren DeStefano. It’s her 1st novel and is a dystopian genre. I couldn’t imagine myself like her- Rhine. Well, I admire Gabriel! Haha and I hate to admit, Linden seems a sweet guy, he’s just that he’s got WIVES. Eww lol!

A modern world where the new generation born in the world- has a short life span because of the chemical from a lab explosion. The world has been dead only left with North America. Females only live to age 20 and males, 25 (I think of this as, guys are still trying to be gentle in the last days of time in the book lol).
Sad. Sad book. But I guess i just couldn’t wait for the next book to come out, which is Fever! Go check the book out!
By age sixteen, Rhine Ellery has four years left to live. She can thank modern science for this genetic time bomb. A botched effort to create a perfect race has left all males with a lifespan of 25 years, and females with a lifespan of 20 years. Geneticists are seeking a miracle antidote to restore the human race, desperate orphans crowd the population, crime and poverty have skyrocketed, and young girls are being kidnapped and sold as polygamous brides to bear more children. When Rhine is kidnapped and sold as a bride, she vows to do all she can to escape. Her husband, Linden, is hopelessly in love with her, and Rhine can’t bring herself to hate him as much as she’d like to. He opens her to a magical world of wealth and illusion she never thought existed, and it almost makes it possible to ignore the clock ticking away her short life. But Rhine quickly learns that not everything in her new husband’s strange world is what it seems. Her father-in-law, an eccentric doctor bent on finding the antidote, is hoarding corpses in the basement. Her fellow sister wives are to be trusted one day and feared the next, and Rhine is desperate to communicate to her twin brother that she is safe and alive. Will Rhine be able to escape–before her time runs out?Together with one of Linden’s servants, Gabriel, Rhine attempts to escape just before her seventeenth birthday. But in a world that continues to spiral into anarchy, is there any hope for freedom?

When ‘Lightning’ meets Lucas Delos

BOOM! Lucas Delos and Helen Hamilton are meant to be with each other! This book is Starcrossed by Josephine Angelini (@josieangelini). I love Lucas and Helen so much!! Perfect couple! Really hope they are not cousins. Talking about the characters, Lucas… I might just die! He’s that handsome and sweet and everything at all! Helen, on the other hand, is a girl who just found out about who she truly is. Her mother…well, I don’t really trust her (I trust Lucas lol).

The song that reminds me of this book and these two characters, is the song from The Wanted—Lightning. Lightning is one of Helen’s ability! She get dehydrated when she has used all of her stored up lightning! Pretty cool, huh? Better read the book! This is just tiny little bit of what’s about.

Now that Hector (Lucas’ cousin) has a sin (killed his own kin), they need to protect him from whatever comes. Helen too is in big danger, the gods want her dead but Lucas and his family are there protect her and Hector.

If you want to know, don’t hesitate to grab the book! Go borrow in the library or buy online store or anything at all just to get the book! Happy reading peeps!

Starcrossed

Helen and Lucas are destined to be together but the Gods will keep them apart.
This is written by Josephine Angelini. This book has a sequel— Dreamless. I couldn’t wait for it to come out! Hey, take a look and check the book out!

Set on the island of Nantucket, STARCROSSED tells the tale of Helen Hamilton, a young woman whose destiny is forever altered when she meets Lucas Delos and tries to kill him in front of her entire high school. Which is terribly inconvenient, not only because Lucas is the most beautiful boy on the island, but also because Helen is so achingly shy she suffers physical pain whenever she is given too much attention.
Making matters worse, Helen is beginning to suspect she’s going crazy. Whenever she’s near Lucas or any member of his family she sees the ghostly apparitions of three women weeping bloody tears, and suffers the burden of an intense and irrational hate. She soon learns that she and Lucas are destined to play the leading roles in a Greek tragedy that the Three Fates insist on repeating over and over again throughout history. Like her namesake, Helen of Troy, she’s destined to start a war by falling in love. But even though Lucas and Helen can see their own star-crossed destiny, they’re still powerfully attracted to each other. Will they give up their personal happiness for the greater good, or risk it all to be together?
