Undercurrent

Tricia Rayburn did an amazing twist writing the 1st book and now Vanessa is back for more siren sea action!

The sirens are back, but Vanessa may be the biggest threat of all. . . .

Nothing has been normal since Vanessa Sands learned that her sister was murdered by sirens—femme fatales of the watery depths—and that everything she believed about her family was a lie.
Her boyfriend Simon’s been the only person Vanessa feels she can really trust. But now there are some secrets she can’t tell even him. And when Vanessa finds herself in the sights of Parker, Hawthorne Prep’s resident charmer, she needs someone to confide in more than ever. Doubting her relationship with Simon, unsure of Parker’s intentions—and of her own—and terrified by what she’s learned about herself, Vanessa has never felt so alone.
But personal problems must be put aside, because the Winter Harbor sirens are back for revenge. Now, Vanessa must face her past and accept that she is just like her enemies—every bit as alluring, every bit as dangerous.

The eagerly anticipated second novel of the Siren trilogy, Undercurrent is a seductive paranormal romance that will leave you breathless.

Finished the book today. It was really great read! I can’t wait for Pulse to be release soon! Vanessa and Simon… *sigh* I wish, I wish things will be OK with them soon.

Well, what can I say… I really like the mythology behind it. Somehow Willa…that part really got me well!! The author is sooo great doing that to me. Seriously.

I’m speechless because this book is really different and really good read! I recommend readers to read it! Speechless.

I’ll end it this way by saying: GO read it if you get the chance! Don’t slip it away easily!

P.S. You’ll know Parker in time. I like him though he’s just a rebound kinda guy. I don’t want to give any spoilers and so I’ll zip up my mouth. Enjoy. ;)

Happy reading! ;)

The Heroes Of Olympus series: The Son Of Neptune

The Heroes Of Olympus series: The Son Of Neptune. Written by Rick Riordan. I took the time reading this book. About 1 week. Thick book as well. Rick Riordan is genius!! Every page… I was like WOW and Percy can make me laugh every time he communicate to any of the characters in the book.

In The Lost Hero, three demigods named Jason, Piper, and Leo made their first visit to Camp Half-Blood, where they inherited a blood-chilling quest:

Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall.
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.Who are the other four mentioned in the prophesy? The answer may lie in another camp miles away, where a new camper has shown up and appears to be the son of Neptune, god of the sea.

With an ever-expanding cast of brave-hearted heroes and formidable foes, this second book in The Heroes of Olympus series offers all of the action, pathos, and humor that Rick Riordan fans crave.
Read the first chapter!

Seriously for sure, my tweets are gonna annoy you even more! Hahah I’m very rambly on Twitter. SPOILERS ALERT!
  • I’m very happy for my reserved book with me right now too!! Son Of Neptune!! PERCY JACKSON IS BACK!
  • Percy Jackson!! Eeep! He’s all grown up and so handsome! Where’s Annabeth lol
  • I feel like an alien to see the map of Camp Jupiter. I’ll miss Camp Half-Blood for a while.
  • Omg poor Percy. He fights monsters on the way to Camp Jupiter but Jason and friends didn’t even sweat getting to Camp Half-blood! Whut.
  • Don’t compare Percy to Jason. Percy is the best, strong, brave and will always be Seaweed Brain to me.
  • Was trying to dig my head who is June. Yeah, she’s a goddess! June is Hera, am I right? Hahah! Now I remember!
  • Is Camp Jupiter larger than Camp Half-Blood or what? From what I think, Camp Jupiter is much larger
  • Idk anything about Roman lol. I have no idea what is Legion or something. Aack! Haha
  • I really can say that Camp Jupiter is richy-rich haha. Marble floor, glittered mosaic..wow.
  • Hahaha Percy is still the Percy I know from PJ series! He’s hilarious! XD
  • Oh yeah, on the cover Son of Neptune I thought Percy looked 18. I totally forgot the big prophecy comes when he’s 16. Not 18. Haha!
  • Reyna: “…we hold a ballot on the evening of June 24, at the Feast of Fortuna. That’s in 5 days.” Percy: “You have a feast for tuna?” LOOOL
  • Hahahahahhaha poor Percy must be starving and Reyna here had no idea. At all.
  • Octavian?? Is that how they call an Oracle there at Camp Jupiter? Hazel said “gift of prophecy”. So cool! Octavian.
  • Percy Jackson, you are loved! You still sound the Seaweed Brain I know! HAHAH! Thanks for making me laugh so hard! <3
  • Just done watching The Eagle. I had to watch it again because it reminds me of the book cover of “Son Of Neptune” lol
  • I’m thinking of watching Gladiators right now haha. I’m so lame I haven’t got a chance to watch that one hahah
  • Somehow the word and movie Gladiators reminds me of the Camp Jupiter… idk hahah!
  • Oh my heck! Full of surprises!! NICO!!! How the heck he got to the Roman Camp??
  • I can imagine Nico soo grown up, all handsome & brave young man with his black jeans and aviator jacket! Eeek!
  • <3 NICO!! How? How? Lol
  • Lololol I’m so confused with Roman terms of the names of the gods and goddesses! I’m familiar with most Greek gods! Hahaha
  • Yeah, Camp Jupiter is much stricter, and harsh than Camp Half-Blood.
  • “His full name was Gaius Vitellius Reticulus but the other cohorts called him Vitellius the Ridiculous.” HAHAH right down hilarious! XD
  • Rick R didn’t fail to make me laugh soooo hard!! XD
  • I don’t think Frank’s dad is Apollo at all. He maybe real good and love archery but Apollo’s not his dad. Hephaestus is. *wild guess* ;)
Omg Reyna offered Percy be a praetor next with her! YES! Percy is still the hero I love! He even apologize to Reyna. Greek Percy lol. My wild guess about who Frank’s dad, was not even close hahaha! I guess my good guessing side wasn’t working at the moment LOL I was trying to remember who Ares in the Percy J series.Thought he was in Titan’s curse. Then it just popped—no he was in Sea of Monster lol Clarisse’s father. Percy doesn’t like Ares that much. Lol. that’s why he recognize the voice. Lol I soo get it after digging my head! XD

The guy in Titan’s Curse was Apollo not Ares. *facepalm* HAHAHA Like Thalia said, Apollo is hot. And Percy was like, he’s the sun god. Thalia went saying, that’s not what I meant. HAHAHA! *ROFL*

The 2 paragraphs above are still tweets. I just put them like that so it won’t take up too much space.

Anyways, let’s start. Percy… I’m really really glad he found Camp Jupiter!! Percy is my favorite character that’s why when he wasn’t on The Lost Hero, I was kinda sad about it.

Percy was still the Percy I know from the five book series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians. He even sounded the same like when he was 13 in The Lightning Thief haha! Hazel sounded more of a 16 year old when he should be the one sounding like that. However, that’s what I love about him, he makes serious situation always hilarious! He made cry laughing and my tummy hurts so much! :D

Soo good to hear about Tyson and Mrs O’Leary too! :D

The Son Of Neptune was really incredible with new characters especially now that I understood Roman camp. I went reading up on it. Even watch the movie The Eagle because it relates well. Along when I’m reading the book I sometimes got Percy’s name mixed up. Haha! Like Peter, Perry, Pousy!! I’m not Mr D (Dionysus)!

One night, i chatted with my brothers in the living room. We were challenging one another—god of …..is who. If that makes sense haha! One will ask: “Who is the god of war?” Someone should answer the question. All of a sudden everything went as a hilarious joke! It was really funny! My brother asked, “Who is the god of gifts?” I was like, “Uh…” He revealed the answer when I can’t. “Santa Claus!” I added in saying, “What’s this? A Santa Claus mythology?” Everyone just laughed and had a great time! :D

I have to admit…oh my heck! I don’t think I’ll be able to pass my Roman numerals section on a Math test. In The Son Of Neptune, Roman numerals numbering are used for every new chapter and when I lost count, I tried to read it a chapter’s Roman numeral: “X=10…L=50 so this chapter is what? 60? How could this be.” hahah!! So embarrassing! Epic fail! Stuffs like this came out for Math in the Philippines and NEVER did get it! It’s a good thing in Singapore, we don’t have such stuffs.

Percy, Hazel and Frank’s mission was like Mission Impossible only it was Demigod version and not Tom Cruise LOL

YES. YES. SPOILERY STUFFS AHEAD!
I can’t wait to read the third book in the series—The Mark Of Athena. The book title was been revealed by Rick Riordan sometime ago. I have a feeling this book will be about Annabeth’s hard tasks assigned to her but whatever it is, it doesn’t seem like a good stuff. Especially, when Ella the harpy recited this prophecy during their quest, they were currently in Vancouver: “Wisdoms daughter walks alone, the Mark of Athena burns through Rome.” how does that sound to you? Good or bad?

Juno has also warned Percy. I won’t say it. I give too many spoilers haha!

Along the quest, the trio met Iris, the rainbow goddess. When they were already continuing their journey to Anchorage, Alaska… Iris packed them supplies from her ROFL business! Hilarious!! ROFL stands for Rainbow Organic Foods and Lifestyles. I was wondering (still am), where Iris’ business going with this?? Hahaha!!

Yes. Thanatos, Lieutenant of Pluto in the Underworld has an iPad. How fantastico! *laughs out loud* !!! Are those free stuff you get from Pluto’s treasure or something? hahah! I can’t stop laughing! Frank even thought maybe there’s an app reaping souls!! HAHAHA

Percy called for help to rescue Ella the harpy left in Vancouver. Percy called for help who came to be his brother Cyclop, Tyson! Ella likes Cyclop Tyson. Tyson thinks she is pretty. Awww It was suuuuuper, what. Oh my gosh and cute! YES. THAT. :D
END OF SPOILERS.

The ending of the book was such a cliffhanger! And i feel sad for Percy. He always get the hard part to play in this great quest/Great Prophecy. I can feel that Percy is the leader of this quest or maybe both Jason and him. Percy is the most important though. So I still think he is the leader. I can sense Juno saying that to him in the last few chapters.

He doesn’t have his girlfriend by his side yet when Reyna got Jason back, Hazel and Frank, Tyson and Ella, Mrs O’Leary and Hannibal. Him?? What about him? ALONE when it comes to love couples. :( He always has something to worry about.
**********************************************************************
I turned the page for more and I’m like….you’re kidding me!

The Mark Of Athena should be release real soon!!! I can’t wait no more!

If I Stay

I finished reading the book – If I Stay in one day. Mia… she had made the right choice. Gayle Forman writes beautifully. She did an amazing job writing this book! I picked up the book simply because I may get something deep from it about love. Not that I’m trying to learn from a fiction, no. Sometimes fiction really gets me a lot to ponder on things I haven’t really thought of. I do this when I get a quiet time for myself.

I’m pretty weird sometimes…I say my thoughts aloud to myself – I forget there are people around me.

In a single moment, everything changes. Seventeen-year-old Mia has no memory of the accident; she can only recall riding along the snow-wet Oregon road with her family. Then, in a blink, she finds herself watching as her own damaged body is taken from the wreck… A sophisticated, layered, and heartachingly beautiful story about the power of family and friends, the choices we all make—and the ultimate choice Mia commands.

Above is just a synopsis of the book only.
This is the plot of the book; posted on Gayle Forman’s website:

On a day that started like any other…
Mia had everything: a loving family, a gorgeous, adoring boyfriend, and a bright future full of music and full of choices. Then, in an instant, almost all of that is taken from her. Caught between life and death, between a happy past and an unknowable future, Mia spends one critical day contemplating the one decision she has left—the most important decision she’ll ever make.

Simultaneously tragic and hopeful, this is a romantic, riveting and ultimately uplifting story about memory, music, living, dying, loving.

http://www.gayleforman.com/books/if-i-stay/

I love Mia and Adam’s deep relationship. They sound so mature to me – serious in their relationship. Both had a beautiful smooth relationship but of course no couple out there are perfect. They have problems to face on their own and that’s what makes them a realistic couple. Truly, in a relationship there are challenges to face every road you turn. Going off college and for the future – lots of choices to choose at the same time a difficult situation to be in.

I’m not a fan of making choices, you know. Haha! I really don’t. It’s hard enough. I still make my parents choose a decision for me at this age but I know someday i should be independent to make the choices. Right choices. I have to learn starting… Now.

I really adore Mia’s little brother, Teddy, but you can’t turn back now to what had happened. In my opinion, she had made a choice that was right to continue living even if it hurts without them by your side. Mia has a second chance to reach her dreams and more. She has a future ahead of her with her grandparent’s support, care, love that all she need. I’ll still miss Teddy though.

Anyways, last night I was just curious about who will be my true love. Is he really out there waiting for me? Waiting for the right time like me? Patient like me too? I know it sounds crazy to think about this – at such a young teenage me hahah! I was on bed when I questioned myself all of this and since no one answered my questions I just assured myself, he is out there.

I almost forgot to tell about my passion for classical music. I used to listen often to classical music, ’til now. It’s still my favorite. I’ve come to love classical when I watched this anime called La Corda d’Oro. I’ve grown to love every piece played on every episode and the main character has inspired me so much. Then I found my heart that I wanted to play violin. It never happened though. We can’t afford to get me to a violinist to tutor me. I still want to learn how to play it now.

Mia plays classical. I’m on her side. I’m a dork like her lol.

P.S. Can’t Fight This Feeling Anymore is a song I can’t get out of my head while I was reading through the book. It’s the song that keeps repeating on my head when Adam cried beside Mia—all he wanted was for Mia to stay and hang in there with him. *SNIFFS*
Check out the these great sites:
Author Gayle Forman’s the official site: http://www.gayleforman.com/
The book’s website ~ http://ifistay.com/

Where She Went will be another emotional book. A sequel to this. What’s interesting is, the book will be on Adam’s points of view. I can’t think of anything better. Looking forward to reading it!

Quotes I like from this book: “Sometimes you make choices in life and sometimes choices make you.”

“I’m not choosing, but I’m running out of fight.”

“Love, it never dies. It never goes away, it never fades, so long as you hang on to it. Love can make you immortal”

Everlost

I probably gave out spoilers in this one with my tweets posted. Sorry. The book is totally awesome!! The ending was sooo good left me thinking like…what’s going to happen for them now?? I really have to wait till I get Everwild! Neal Shusterman is an amazing writer!!

IT BEGINS WITH AN ACCIDENT.
Nick and Allie don’t survive the crash, and now their souls are stuck halfway between life and death in a sort of limbo called Everlost. It’s a magical yet dangerous place, where bands of lost souls run wild and anyone who stands in the same spot too long sinks to the center of the Earth. Frightened and determined, Nick and Allie aren’t ready to rest in peace just yet. They want their lives back, and their search for a way home will take them deep into the uncharted areas of Everlost. But the longer they stay, the more they forget about their pasts. And if all memory of home is lost, they may never escape this strange, terrible world.

@QueenieDahilan:
  • I would never ever go to Everlost even if it’s like Neverland or something. Never. That witch Mary with her little Queendom—ew no way
  • I’m currently reading Everlost. I like it so far!!! I don’t like “Everlost” Mary’s world. Lol
  • I really like Allie. she’s very observant. She doesn’t buy just anything. She asked lots of questions about Everlost.
  • With every word Allie throws at Miss Mary… it’s like slapping Mary with her glow-in-the-dark hand lol. I don’t like Mary.
  • Nick is being childish haha Lief…he’s cool to me lol
  • “Everlost” sounds like The Lotus Hotel and Casino in the book Percy Jackson hahah! Cool cool!
  • Woah! 1 point goes to Allie!! She slapped Mary across the face! Wooo! Hahah! tsk tsk
  • How could Mary be so heartless not to save Nick and Lief even if it means losing the war between the Haunter?
  • Allie, gotta say nice move lol though Mary didn’t feel the pain. I wish she had felt it bahaha. Me so bad. XD
  • Bad century old hag Mary, y u so heartless not to save sweet Nick who helped you feel emotional… Go save Nick!
  • Everlost is already filling my head with hatred towards Mary Hightower hahah. But so far so good. It’s a good read!
  • Percy Jackson adventure, it reminds me of idk…why maybe i really want to read Son of Neptune very very soon!
More tweets:
  • Finally Nick sees what Miss Mary does in her Queendom “job”. Way to go Nick! Now, get out of there from her, go to where you’re going!
  • Omg l’m reading the last chapter?? This gotta be good!!
  • This book really really do reminds me of The Percy Jackson series! The adventure, the fortune cookies w/ riddles in it —no oracle though lol
  • & now the coin. Not for calling your demigod friends or what but to get u to where ur going! Totally Percy Jackson-like series!
  • This Everlost! The adventure in it is cool too!! :) )
  • Omg Miss Mary is calling Nick The Chocolate Orge? She’s totally a wicked witch telling lies to lost children! I like McGill better than her!
  • But couldn’t help myself to giggle at the name she called Nick. It’s because of the smudge of chocolate on his face that’s so funny heheheh
  • Oh this book has got humor in it too like The Percy Jackson series! Totally enjoyed it! :D
  • Done with Everlost! I wanna read Everwild, the 2nd book in the trilogy! The plot didn’t say anything about Lief, well his name was Travis.
My reply tweets to the author of the book, Neal Shusterman:
  • @NealShusterman I just finished your book Everlost and I really had enjoyed every page! Great job! Thank you for writing this book! :)
  • @NealShusterman i love the humor in it! Really funny! The ride was like a roller coaster ride & adventurous to me!Allie’s my fave character!
YES! YES! YES! The book reminds me of Percy Jackson series every time I turn a page over the next one :D

I have to tell you what my mother had asked me about – as if I would know the answer to her question, I think she didn’t really questioned me but it was perhaps that she had said her thought aloud. Creeps me out and it also got me thinking then. Her thought was: “Where do you think dead people go now? Heaven?” I said maybe heaven, idk too.

I read Everlost and now I’m back with the same question (or was it just a thought that became a question). It’s fiction I’m reading and none of it is true at all but still it made you think through it.

Allie was a brave girl! She’s my favorite character here. You can’t compare the intelligence she have to Nick. Nick was an idiot in the few chapters of the book! He was pretty annoying to me and he makes decisions without thinking through it. He just listen to Miss Mary right out away, he buys everything the old hag says. As the book goes, I’m getting to like him especially the last few chapters when he finally get the sense who
Miss Mary truly is and what she does to lost children like him.

Miss Mary…GRRR. All I can do is slap her with my words lol! She’s an old hag. Century old hag!! She’s totally lost it and selfish, heartless! I don’t like her!

I wouldn’t wanna waste my time throwing her words of dislike, it isn’t worthy of my time but I’m sure it’s worth the to go read the book NOW and sail the adventure and explore the Everlost (not stay in the forest where Lief had been for hundred of years lol) with the Allie, Nick and Lief (and extras, probably LOL)!

P.S. I can say this a thousand times if I could – YES! Allie, Nick and Lief/Travis reminds me of the trio in The Percy Jackson series who happens to be Percy, Annabeth and Grover! 2 guys and 1 girl! Perfect! Humorous like Percy Jackson series as well! Funny! Heheh! Once again, puurrfect! ;)

There’s a movie of Everlost coming up! Neal Shusterman has not announced any deets about a confirm date but we just have to wait out for now. Here’s an article I found on Neal Shusterman aka story man site; about the Everlost going on big screen:

EVERLOST
6/15/2010: Neal has begun work on another draft of the EVERLOST script for Universal
Everlost has sold to Universal Studios, with Gary Ross’s company “Larger than Life” producing, and Neal writing the script. At this stage, the first draft of the script is done, and Neal is waiting for rewrite notes from the studio. Neal is thrilled to be working with “Larger than Life”, and is looking forward to getting Everlost up on the big screen. Everlost has been reoptioned in march of 2009 for an additional 2 years. While the writers going on strike slowed down the project, Universal is still committed to getting it to the big screen.

The Nine Lives of Chloe King: The Fallen

All the while I thought the book was all about after-death world or something after I read the plot about this book. I was into it reading – picturing Chloe has a super many lives to live when it’s really not about THAT at all lol. It’s not at all what I pictured. EVER. Again, I didn’t SEE it coming until I got the…well, i won’t spoil that part for you because it really got me. GOOD.

Really cool stuff!! I really enjoyed reading this book! You have to grab a copy and read it. LIKE NOW!
Author Liz Braswell originally wrote THE NINE LIVES OF CHLOE KING as a trilogy.

She did her homework and got good grades, but she wasn’t afraid to ditch class sometimes to hang out with her best friends. She slept at home, but otherwise avoided all human contact with her mom. The usual stuff. Then she fell from San Francisco’s highest tower, and her life changed. For starters, she died. And then, she woke up.
Now Chloe’s life is anything but normal: Suddenly guys are prowling around her, she’s growing claws, and someone’s trying to kill her.

Luckily for Chloe, she still has eight lives to go.

Mah tweets are gonna show ya how I get it all under control. My fangirling with this book! lol Here goes. From the beginning till I got the whole book done. Only started the book yesterday and I finished it today..really cool read!
@QueenieDahilan - my personal twitter.
  • The Nine Lives of Chloe King is an interesting read! Started reading it today :) )
  • I’ve done reading The Nine Lives of Chloe King. Alyec or Brian? I feel like siding Brian still lol ohmgosh—kitty cat hat. I can imagine it.
  • Just read the plot for The Stolen—2nd book of The Nine Lives Of Chloe King. Who are those two different guys? Two new cat bfs? OMG LOLOL
  • SERIOUSLY HAVE TO READ THE BOOK NOW. WHAT ‘BOUT BRIAN WHO ALWAYS CARE? *sigh* I want Brian….
Yep. That’s it. Few tweets this time though. A few of my tweeps talked to me about the book and the TV drama show as well. I checked it out (the drama). One of my tweeps told me about Chalek aka Chloe + Alyec/Alek. Gosh, I was so stupid asking her if that was a new character introduced in the book LOL. “No.” LOLOLOL. Ok, Chalek – Fans are real fast putting the characters name together as one haha.
I like Brian in the book. He’s charming, sweet.

Anyways.. Lemme start with Chloe and then Brian/Alyec.

Chloe, Chloe, Chloe… Hmmm. Very very interesting character in the book, I’ll say. (I can’t think properly…All i care talkin about is BRIAN lol) *skips Chloe* BRIAN. Brian, I love him instantly when he’s all simple, talk-about business or something, his kitty cat hat lololol. I always think of him as really adorable young man with that knit kitty cat hat. I would prefer his hat to have the totoro theme on it. LIKE THESE (totally will remind me of Brian, the guy who goes shopping at Pateena’s LOL):

OMG OMG OMG. I totally find him really CUTE in those Totoro knit hats (pardon me while I go fangirling over a fictional character HAHAHAHAH). *gone mad/crazy* Alyec surprised me. Chloe…love love her too. Brian and Chloe is the best match for me. But…well, Alyec will be so dang good too. But I really like Brian lol.

Anyway, check out the trilogy and the drama. I found this one promo of TNLOCK ep1 on Youtube! Go watch it on there!

The girl who plays as Chloe is so pretty and the guy who plays Alyec is handsome enough. Brian…well, they should have hired someone even better. More handsome. LOL.

Looking forward reading The Stolen—2nd book of TNLOCK. Eeep! Let me tell you, Chloe is a kick-ass gal. Period. She’s awesomeage!

Happy reading peeps!

The Maze Runner

This 1st book in the trilogy amazed me with the awesome settings and very well written descriptive place in the maze or what this maze all about! SUPER EXCITED to read the 2nd installment which is The Scorch Trials! I need to pack my mind ready for another adventure with Thomas and Teresa and the rest of the shanks! Hahaha! James Dashner, you’re indeed the DUDE – I love how you write! Thank you so much for sharing this with all the readers!! :D

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, the only thing he can remember is his first name. His memory is blank. But he’s not alone. When the lift’s doors open, Thomas finds himself surrounded by kids who welcome him to the Glade—a large, open expanse surrounded by stone walls.
Just like Thomas, the Gladers don’t know why or how they got to the Glade. All they know is that every morning the stone doors to the maze that surrounds them have opened. Every night they’ve closed tight. And every 30 days a new boy has been delivered in the lift.

Thomas was expected. But the next day, a girl is sent up—the first girl to ever arrive in the Glade. And more surprising yet is the message she delivers.

Thomas might be more important than he could ever guess. If only he could unlock the dark secrets buried within his mind.

My tweets will probably answer my meaning of “insane” while reading this book last couple of days lol.
Queenielyn

  • Bah!!! I lost my inspired drawing of The Maze Runner!! NOOO. I just put it on the shelf and then….disappeared just like that! :(

  • Really an interesting book!! This is really great! So far so good! :)
  • Can’t wait to find out what happens to Thomas and Teresa!! The Maze Runner is a must read book!!!

WOW. Just looking at those tweets posted by me…idk if you still don’t get me how AWESOMEAGE this book is!! YOU REALLY REALLY HAVE TO READ IT! Even on my Facebook, I posted a status about the maze LOL.

I read the 1st chapter not long ago and I have an inspire drawing, really. The next morning it just disappeared from the shelf. I did a drawing because I need a picture to see how the maze really looks like haha. Call me mad..but really lol I needed it. And YES. I really threw the book across the room. The beginning gave me GOOSEBUMPS. James Dashner did an amazing job writing this book!! A MUST READ for the Hunger Games fans out there! Idk if I should go on because most of my tweets says it all and everything!
I’m having a Glader accent disease. I kept using shank, shuck. haha! It’s true, I have the shuckiest short hair now. I’ll post a picture real soon.

I love how the character in the book, Thomas, asks a lot of questions. You know, itching to get answers – curious of just about every thing. ‘Cause that’s how we learn – we simply ask questions to those who knows something better than us. Thomas was a guy who can’t just NOT do something when something wrong where he landed on. He doesn’t give up easily. He keeps pushing himself that there must be a way to SOLVE the thing. Thomas always thinks too. Think think. Even before sleeping… I really love this character. The book is hilarious. Absolutely! Made me laugh out loud and my siblings think I’m laughing with their jokes when I’m not haha! Thomas MADE ME LAUGH. Thomas’ a Greenie and so is Teresa and me three LOL. ;)

The story’s been stuck in my head. Ponder ponder..of what’s going to happen to their world. Oh gosh I remember…I feel like crying now. Chuck. Oh my shuck-face Chuck.

Anyway, Teresa is a lovely character. Lots of clues were hanging in the air for Thomas when she arrives in Glade. Her hero: Thomas. I won’t say any CLUES for you. You have to read it. No spoilery stuffs. I gotta end this before it gets too rambly… The adventure continues on The Scorch Trials.

Tomorrow Girls series: Behind The Gates

I always do not know how to start but when I get to the end, i start rambling and words keep flowing out lol… First of all, I read the book for 1 day only and I’m done. Eva Gray is a great author! I am going to read the next book in the series which is, Run For Cover. Looking forward!

In a terrifying future world, four girls must depend on each other if they want to survive.

Louisa is nervous about being sent away to a boarding school — but she’s excited, too. And she has her best friend, Maddie, to keep her company. The girls have to pretend to be twin sisters, which Louisa thinks just adds to the adventure!

Country Manor School isn’t all excitement, though. Louisa isn’t sure how she feels about her new roommates: athletic but snobby Rosie and everything’s-a-conspiracy Evelyn. Even Maddie seems different away from home, quiet and worried all the time.

Still, Louisa loves CMS — the survival skills classes, the fresh air. She doesn’t even miss not having a TV, or the internet, or any contact with home. It’s for their own safety, after all.
Or is it?

Louisa and Maddie were sent to Country Manor School while the war between America and Alliance is taking place. They were sent there by their parents, knowing that both of the girls will be kept safe there. Louisa and Maddie met Evelyn, who investigates that things are weird around CMS. Louisa didn’t see it that way though. In fact, she loves staying there like it’s home.
CMS (girls’ school) teaches all girls survival skills, outdoor activities, etc.

I felt irritated at Louisa at the middle because she thinks that things around CMS is all that great. I know learning new things is totally cool but what I wasn’t cool about was that, she didn’t mind the people who are out in the war. She don’t really mind staying in CMS and have a great time. I think if Evelyn didn’t came along, I don’t think she’ll be able to go through the theories in her head like Evelyn did. Louisa will probably just keep thinking that, they are really there for their own “safety”. Don’t mind me, that’s just my opinion. All is great, though. She finally see the theory Evelyn was always predicting.

I won’t spill things out. You guys have to read the book! It’s really awesome! I can’t wait to read the next book the series!!!

P.S. These girls are really brave—beginning till the end. I really like that they have the courage to stand up for what is right. :)

Let’s start with something more basic.

“…Isn’t it strange that I know you’d risk your life to save mine… but I don’t know what your favorite color is?” he says.
A smile creeps on to my lips. “Green. What’s yours?”
“Orange,” he says.
“Orange? Like Effie’s hair?” I say.
“A bit more muted,” he says. “More like… sunset.” ~Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen, Catching Fire

Photo by me, using Canon EOS. ;)
Sunset. I can see it immediately, the rim of the descending sun, the sky streaked with soft shades of orange. Beautiful. ~Katniss Everdeen, Catching Fire

Taken by me- using my Sony phone, my fave-old phone. I love sunsets too. <3

Deadly Cool

What can I say? I LOVE LOVE the story of this book! Thumbs up to Gemma Halliday for a great mystery story with main characters Hartley Featherstone, Sam, Chase who I find really awesome investigating the crime (i’ll get more to this later). I really really want to know what happens next! Social Suicide comes out next year – I GOTTA HAVE TO READ IT! Same to you out there! Get this book and get the solving the mystery!

First I find out that my boyfriend is cheating on me. Then he’s pegged as the #1 suspect in a murder. And now he’s depending on me to clear his name. Seriously?

As much as I wouldn’t mind watching him squirm, I know that he’s innocent. So I’m brushing off my previously untapped detective skills and getting down to business. But I keep tripping over dead bodies, and I’m still no closer to figuring out who did it. And what’s worse: all signs seem to point to me as the killer’s next victim.I really need to pick a better boyfriend next time.

Interested, yet? I’m sure you are excited to find out what comes next, eh? Gotta read it! Such a cool book! What I love about the book is that, it has…ok, well, Hartley was just a normal teen who wants a normal life in this stage of her life but when a dead body was found in her boyfriend’s closet…all she wanted was just to find out and talk everything out with Josh DuPont. Hartley believes Josh didn’t kill their schoolmate and she wanted to know in order to help her ex-boyfriend, the police are after. Hartley started investigating from there with her best friend, Sam. Chase was kind enough to lend a helping hand investigating with both of the girls.

I like the way this book was kind of like Nancy Drew but with a partner in crime solving who is Chase. At first, I REALLY DID ACCUSE CHASE KILLING THEIR SCHOOLMATE. I guess it made me think that way because of his black and black and black outfit. LOL. Anyway, I won’t spill the beans. But I LOVE CHASE ERIKSON than JOSH DuPont! LOL. I like Josh first though. He is a jerk but not Chase. :P
CSI-like get me going. Haha! CSI and Law & Order. I love the TV show, Law & Order.

P.S. An easy read, really!! These kinds of books, I really get thrilled. Hilarious too! I like the twist in it too!

Go read it bookwormies! Enjoy! :)

Quotes I like in this book: “Caw! Caw, Hartley, caw!”
Chase narrowed his eyes again.
“Sam?”
I nodded. Then crossed to the window again and called down to Sam. “You can quit squawking. He caught me.”

“That craptastical, gutless, son-of-a-cactus-humping butt monkey!!”

Siren

How to start…how to start haha. Let me start saying this… THIS IS AN AWESOME BOOK! GO READ IT! :D What I didn’t know about this book is that it has Greek mythology in it. Ohh how I wanna thank Tricia Rayburn for sharing this book! I love this book she has written and I have to read the 2nd book in the trilogy, Undercurrent! I read only the full 1st chapter on her blog: HERE.

Seventeen-year-old Vanessa Sands is afraid of everything—the dark, heights, the ocean—but her fearless older sister, Justine, has always been there to coach her through every challenge. That is, until Justine goes cliff-diving one night near the family’s vacation house in Maine, and her lifeless body washes up on shore the next day.

Though her parents hope that they’ll be able to find closure back in Boston, Vanessa can’t help feeling that her sister’s death wasn’t an accident. After discovering that Justine was keeping a lot of secrets, Vanessa returns to Winter Harbor, hoping that Justine’s boyfriend might know more. But Caleb has been missing since Justine’s death.

Soon, it’s not just Vanessa who’s afraid. All of Winter Harbor is abuzz with anxiety when another body washes ashore, and panic sets in when the small town becomes host to a string of fatal, water-related accidents in which all the victims are found, horrifically, grinning from ear to ear.

Vanessa turns to Caleb’s brother, Simon, for help, and begins to find herself drawn to him. As the pair tries to understand the sudden rash of creepy drownings, Vanessa uncovers a secret that threatens her new romance—and will change her life forever.

CAREFUL! Spoilery stuffs AHEAD!

While I was reading this book at first, I thought it was all just the murder of her sister. But I didn’t really saw it coming that there was more to see from there. I didn’t even think that it’ll lead to Greek mythology haha! All what was in my head was really mysteries. Believe me the title didn’t really make sense to me then. What I was imagining was, she CAN see ambulance siren (wails of sirens like weee weee with blue, red orange lighting on top. LOL). Please…laugh out loud as you wish, I don’t mind. HAHAHAHA!! I love laughing at my stupid imaginations.

But as the story goes, I understood that I had a poor poor imaginations. It’s those Sirens in the Greek mythology. I see… When I already had the idea of it, I couldn’t stop myself from referring to Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters (Rick Riordan’s) book. It’s because in the Sea of Monsters, Percy and Annabeth had come across Sirens. Those who sings and messed with your brain…something like that. Really indescribable. Yeah. Percy has to cover his ear so as to not hear anything from the Sirens.

Sirens in Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters are horrible and meanies. But let me assure you that Vanessa IS a Siren herself but she’s different from her kind. She’s like Betty (another Siren), kind, doesn’t want to kill or hunt for anyone around Winter Harbor.

There twists and turns – that’s what I love in the book. I even ignored Vanessa’s eyes being silver. Vanessa is a sweet and loving to her older sister and OMGOSH, Simon, Mr Science Guy…OMG! I LOVE BOTH OF THEM together! Especially when the two of them do research stuff…weather/climate stuff. OMGOSH!! SO SWEET. It hurts to me – there’s something Simon didn’t know about her and she’s afraid of telling him the truth.

P.S. I gotta stop here before I go SPAZZING AND SPAZZING OVER SIMON. You know why I SPAZZ a lot about him. First, I really like guys who are so into Science stuffs HAHAHA! Geeky, studious!! EEEEEEKK! Studious guys makes me SWOON. They make you like ‘AH’. Quiet even. MELTS.
Oh I almost forgot. I liked Oliver for keeping up writing history about Winter Harbor. I like the history in the book too! ;)

Lots of happenings in the book too! REALLY LOVE IT!
All right! I got. I really got to go fo real lol. Happy happy reading bookwormies!
Beautiful women ready to lead you to a watery death.

Quotes I like from this book: “Whenever you’re ready, or never at all is totally fine.”
“And then you run. Because the only thing worse than her being gone is that you’re still here.”

Matched

Ally Condie… ah she’s a great author! I love this book! The next book in the trilogy was just out in stores a couple of weeks ago, I think. It’s called, ‘Crossed’. I haven’t started reading it yet. I can’t wait to have it in my hands! In the book..well I thought the book was similar to ‘Delirium’ (Lauren Oliver’s book – read it a few weeks back, check it out here) but to my surprise it just wasn’t. It’s really different.

Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander’s face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate . . . until she sees Ky Markham’s face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The Society tells her it’s a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she’s destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can’t stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society’s infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she’s known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

That isn’t enough, is it? Yep. You’ve really gotta read it yourself to find out what happen.
Similarity between Matched and Delirium:
  • Government has the choice who you love to have a perfect normal life. Once the choice was made, you have to live your life as it is from that day till the end.
Difference between Matched and Delirium:
  • In Delirium, you can’t say anything about LOVE. It’s forbidden while in Matched, once you’re matched with someone you are to not love anyone else but only the person you matched with – if not, you are going to be an Infraction.
Ah that’s just a taste of these two books. Haha! I actually don’t want to spoil any of you who haven’t read it so I’ll stop from here and tell more a bit of Matched. Maybe not…haha Quite hard to voice out my thoughts.
The Society (found on Tumblr)
Team Xander or Team Ky? TEAM KY. PERIOD. ;)
I’m guessing Cassia will start the rebellion. Or Xander. Or EVERYONE in the Society. BWUAHAHAHA! I can’t wait to read Crossed! AND GUESS WHAT?? I think there’s a movie coming up next year!!! AAAAHHHH!! Matched movie!! I WANT TO AUDITION FOR THIS HAHAHA. Read about the upcoming Matched movie here

Quotes in the book that I like: “Is falling in love with someone’s story the same thing as falling in love with the person himself?”
“It is strange how we hold on to the pieces of the past while we wait for our futures.”
Do not go gentle.

There are more quotes I like, actually but….i gotta leave it like that.

I’m in love with Ky in the book.

He’s such a great character and both him and Cassia exchanges poem, i found that really sweet. Though it hurts to see Xander not knowing what’s going on between them at first but Cassia feel real whenever she’s around Ky. It touched me too with the stories Ky draws and writes for Cassia. How he has been alone for who knows how long and now that he has Cassia, to have faith in and believes, I know they will keep each other safe wherever they are. Ky’s story when he was young hurts..really stab you in the heart. I love this character so much. His bravery stand out to me the most – not giving up so easily. He keeps fighting. I like that about him. Standing alone is hard, especially in the world he’s in. That’s why I really like Aida and Patrick Markham for welcoming him like a son to them when they adopted Ky. They love Ky like their real son. *SNIFFS*
GOTTA. STOP. RAMBLING. Ciao for now and happy reading! :)
